De forma a obter testemunhos reais deste impacto, foram elaboradas entrevistas a participantes que apresentam diferentes atividades no mundo artístico e cultural, como professores de violoncelo, violoncelistas profissionais, organizadores de festivais de violoncelo, estudantes de violoncelo de nível superior, gestores e programadores culturais, num total de 21 participantes. Pretendeu-se ainda explorar e adquirir um conhecimento mais abrangente sobre a origem, história, evolução e emancipação do violoncelo ao longo dos tempos e importância do mesmo na atualidade, assim como a origem, história e evolução dos festivais de música, tanto em contexto nacional como internacional, e, de forma mais específica, dos festivais de violoncelo. Relativamente a estes últimos, foi elaborada uma tabela que contém as principais atividades, conceitos, objetivos e violoncelistas participantes dos festivais coligidos. Os conceitos explorados neste trabalho foram amplamente estudados, de forma a fazer um paralelo com a literatura existente, o contexto atual e os testemunhos dos entrevistados. Da análise dos resultados conclui-se que a participação em festivais de violoncelo tem um impacto significativo ao nível das competências técnicas, artísticas e pessoais dos performers. Finalmente os resultados indicam que um festival de violoncelo pode também ter um impacto significativo ao nível de desenvolvimento cultural da localidade em que se insere.The aim of the present research was to understand the impact of participation in cello festivals has on musical performance. In order to obtain real testimonies of this impact, interviews were conducted with participants who present different activities in the artistic and cultural world, such as cello teachers, professional cellists, organizers of cello festivals, higher level cello students, managers and cultural programmers, in a total of 21 participants. It was also intended to explore and acquire a more comprehensive knowledge about the origin, history, evolution and emancipation of the cello over time and its importance today, as well as the origin, history and evolution of music festivals, both nationally and internationally, and, more specifically, of cello festivals. Regarding the latter, a table was prepared containing the main activities, concepts, objectives and participating cellists of the collected festivals. The concepts explored in this work were widely studied, in order to make a parallel with the existing literature, the current context and the testimonies of the interviews. From the analysis of the results we conclude that the participation in cello festivals has a significant impact on the technical, artistic and personal skills of the performers.
