A variância total explicada pelos factores foi elevada (65,85%). A correlação entre a medida de ouro e o SADQ-21 é estatisticamente significativa (p<0,05). Os indivíduos com afasia estão significativamente mais deprimidos que os sem afasia (p=0,0001). Conclui-se que o SADQ-21 é um instrumento adequado para a avaliação da sintomatologia depressiva em pessoas com afasia.The aim of this study is to determine psychometric properties of Portuguese version of Stroke Aphasic Depression Questionnaire-21 (SADQ-21). The sample consisted of 120 subjects, 33 of whom with aphasia. The results showed that SADQ-21 has a very high level of internal consistency ( α = 0,87). Construct validity identified five domains. The total variance explained by the components was high (65,85%). The correlation between the gold measure and SADQ-21 was statistically significant (p<0,05). Additionally, people with aphasia are significantly more depressed than people without (p= 0,0001).
