É a terra de distintas personalidades que se destacaram no panorama nacional e internacional. Este foi o mote para a criação de uma Rota dos Artistas que nesta terra nasceram ou por aqui passaram. Os artistas que integram a Rota têm todos algo em comum, a dinâmica da sociabilidade, desenvolvimento cultural, socioeconómico e social-urbano que caracterizaram e influenciaram as suas vidas e as suas obras: a cidade do Porto (2ª cidade de Portugal) e Amarante (concelho onde nasceram ou viveram). Agustina Bessa-Luís, Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, António Nobre, António Carneiro, Acácio Lino e Teixeira de Pascoaes, tiveram, também por isso, um papel social, cultural e artístico relevante no contexto nacional que foi gradualmente crescendo e sendo reconhecido internacionalmente. Uma vez que uma Rota deve ter um ponto de partida e um ponto de chegada, o Porto, vai funcionar como a porta de entrada para os turistas e visitantes que queiram experimentar a Rota. O turismo é um setor em constante crescimento em Portugal, não só em grandes cidades, mas também nos quotidianos das cidades periféricas e do interior. Amarante tem vindo a crescer e o seu Património Cultural a ser visitado, fruto da aposta na marca Amarante. É cidade criativa da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (UNESCO) pela categoria música, desde 2017. A sua agenda cultural, com eventos como o MIMO Festival que potencia o património cultural da cidade e o Universo do Vinho Verde Amarante (UVVA) são um dos fatores chamativos. A par de tudo isto, a natureza o património edificado e a sua história ímpar tornam Amarante um destino de excelência.Pretende-se deste modo, criar um produto turístico que salvaguarde a memória dos artistas - o património português -, e ao mesmo tempo potencie o reconhecimento e desenvolvimento da região pela possibilidade de criação de atividade económica e emprego na área do património.Amarante is one town that is located in the north of Portugal, city of São Gonçalo, where nature and patrimony lives together. Besides that, Amarante is the birth place of several personalities of national and international importance. Because of that, was created cultural itinerary called Artists Route. The artists that make up the Route have something in common, the dynamics of sociability, the cultural, socioeconomic and socio-urban development that characterized and influenced their lives and works: the city of Porto (2nd city of Portugal) and Amarante (county where they were born or lived). Agustina Bessa-Luís, Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, António Nobre, António Carneiro, Acácio Lino and Teixeira de Pascoaes also had a relevant social, cultural and artistic role in the national context that was gradually growing and being internationally recognized. Since a route must have a starting point and a finishing point, Porto will act as the gateway for tourists and visitors who want to experience the route. Tourism is a constantly growing sector in Portugal, not only in large cities, but also in the daily lives of peripheral and inland cities. Amarante has been growing and its Cultural Heritage to be visited, fruit of the bet on Amarante brand. It is the creative city of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the music category since 2017. Its cultural agenda, with events such as the MIMO Festival that enhances the city's cultural heritage and the Wine Universe Amarante Green (UVVA) is one of the striking factors. Alongside all this, nature, built heritage and its unique history make Amarante a destination of excellence.
